A hub for community connection in South Madison

Putting the ‘unity’ in community
Sunshine and smiles abounded outside of the new Black Business Hub at 2234 South Park Street on Saturday as the South Madison community gathered for the ninth-annual Unity Picnic hosted by the Urban League of Greater Madison with support from sponsors and community partners including the UW South Madison Partnership, UW Athletics and UW Health.
UW South Madison Partnership welcomes new assistant director
University of Wisconsin–Madison Community Relations office has welcomed Tanika Apaloo as the new assistant director of the UW South Madison Partnership. In her role, Apaloo will oversee day-to-day operations of the UWSMP and promote stable and productive relationships between the university and community in south Madison and beyond.
Brenda González named Woman of Excellence in 2022 Wisconsin Leadership Community Choice Awards
As part of the Wisconsin Leadership Community Choice Awards, director of community relations Brenda González was voted the 2022 Woman of Excellence. Brenda will receive the award at the 2022 Wisconsin Leadership Summit in Madison on Tuesday, October 11.
UW South Madison Partnership Community Celebration
On August 25, 2022, the UW South Madison Partnership building was filled with happy community members enjoying food, music, games and face-painting during its third Community Celebration, and first since it opened in a new, larger space.
