Position title: Assistant Director of Community and Campus Engagement
Adín Palau has been Assistant Director of Community and Campus Engagement at the Office of Community Relations since February 2020. In this role, he is responsible of overseeing campus outreach efforts to foster collaboration with diverse communities in Madison. Palau leads the implementation of measuring tools and evaluating data to inform strategy. Beginning in 2000, Palau was on the staff of the UW–Madison Office of Human Resources, focusing on community outreach efforts to bring greater diversity to staff applicant pools. As campus-wide recruitment manager, he worked to build centralized recruitment strategies for all categories of employment at UW–Madison and was responsible for managing the Recruitment Initiative for Student Employees (RISE).
A native of Havana, Cuba, Palau is a graduate of the Havana Polytechnic Institute and is passionate about integrating technology solutions to optimize processes. Palau brings a strong expertise in diversity and inclusion; Palau serves as the Chair of the State Council on Affirmative Action, and in 2021 he was appointed to serve on the Governor Tony Evers’ Advisory Council on Equity and Inclusion. Palau has also served on the Board of Directors of the Urban League of Greater Madison, and Centro Hispano of Dane County. An avid chess player, he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
