The statue “All Hands on Bucky” was designed by local artist Ann Pahnke, who worked with children from the Milwaukee Sign Language School and Irving Elementary School in West Allis to create this Bucky. Children from the Milwaukee Sign Language School who provided the hand prints covering the statue visited Villager Mall for the unveiling on May 7th and are shown in the above picture signing the word “love” joined with the “W” for Wisconsin.
Bucky on Parade is a free public art event bringing 85 life-size Bucky Badger statues to the streets of Madison and Dane County May 7–September 12, 2018. Local and regional artists have transformed these Bucky statues into unique works of art! Approximately 30 statues, including “All Hands on Bucky,” will be available for auction at the Bucky on Parade Finale Party on September 29.
The Madison Area Sports Commission is the producer of the event, with support from the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau and in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin Athletics, and Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association.
